Moments & Dark Skies | Maternity Photography
One of a photographers biggest challenges has to be the weather. We all know that Durban’s weather can go from one extreme to the next in a matter of seconds, which is exactly what happened on the day.
Etienne and Sam were very excited for their maternity photography session and after months of planning the day had finally arrived. Just like I do on all photoshoot days I checked the weather in the morning and realised that there was a storm predicted for that afternoon. I had a chat with Et & Sam and we decided to take the chance and continue with our session. Best decision ever.
At some point during the photo session the storm started rolling in. We paid no mind to it and continued taking photographs. With only a few days left with her baby bump Sam wanted to make sure that she documented this time, so that they could save the memories forever. This is such a special time for Et and Sam and I so enjoyed capturing these moments for them. As the storm got closer we started taking our final shots.
The dark skies in the background paired with the sunlight, and this beautiful couple, made for the most magical photos. The skies open and it started raining which is when we decided to call it a day. What an incredible photography session.
Thank you Et and Sam for choosing me to capture this special time for you and for braving the storm. I had an absolute blast. I am so excited for your guys and wish you all the best on this new journey you are about to embark on.
